Zoning Board · Meeting of April 23, 2026

Duxbury's Zoning Board of Appeals approved special permits for two coastal home rebuilds. The board unanimously cleared a raise-and-rebuild project at 83 Gurnet Road for applicants Julie and Nate Tilden, whose new 3,784-square-foot home replaces a 1,260-square-foot structure on a 7,500-square-foot lot. Nate Tilden said the design is "much smaller than the one right next to me that you approved a year ago." The board also approved, 4-0, relocating a shed at 48 Mayflower Avenue and separately approved applicants Mark and Kelsey Murphy's home rebuild there, conditioned on installing dry wells sufficient for the building inspector.

Abutters Stephen and Ryan Flame of 5 Spring Street withdrew most of their written objections the night before the hearing after confirming the shed was permitted in 2018.
