Duxbury Select Board approves $250,000 in ARPA funds for HVAC repairs

DUXBURY — November 8, 2023 — Duxbury Select Board unanimously approved $250,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds for HVAC repairs at multiple town buildings. Facilities Director Christina Nolles presented the request at the November 8 meeting, citing problems at the fire station — where improper additives had been introduced into the HVAC system, forcing repeated refrigerant service calls on a relatively new building — and at the police station, whose system uses obsolete refrigerant that must be flushed and replaced. The appropriation also covers work at the Reardon Building and Town Hall, and draws on federal pandemic relief dollars rather than the town's operating budget.
