Duxbury Select Board Welcomes New Firefighter, Honors 28-Year Department Veteran

DUXBURY — October 19, 2023 — Duxbury Select Board held a brief ceremonial meeting October 19, commending volunteers and recognizing fire department personnel. The board praised the town's Litter Sweep Team for completing its semiannual cleanup during a rainstorm, and recognized the Friends of the Council on Aging following a successful COA Golf Classic that drew roughly 100 golfers to support a program that provides more than 3,000 annual rides to local seniors. The board also welcomed Patrick O'Brien as a new Duxbury firefighter and presented a Massachusetts Department of Fire Services certificate to PJ Hussey, who has served the department since 1995. No formal votes were taken.
