Select Board Approves Price Hike for Checkerberry Hill Moderate-Income Units

DUXBURY — September 14, 2023 — Duxbury Select Board approved a $47,000 price increase for moderate-income units at Checkerberry Hill on Lincoln Street in a 2-1 vote. The amendment to the development agreement raises the per-unit price from $522,000 to $569,000 and increases the income eligibility limit for buyers by 20 percent. The Duxbury Affordable Housing Trust had signed off on the higher price in June, and a July lottery produced five signed purchase agreements at the new price — all before the Select Board had formally authorized the change. Under the amended agreement, $50,000 from unit sales will be directed to the Affordable Housing Trust for development monitoring.
