DUXBURY — The Duxbury Board of Health voted 3-0 to uphold an emergency condemnation order on a home at 86 South Street after Kingston Health Agent Joyce Christofolsky placarded the property on Duxbury Health Agent Lauren Hache's behalf. Hache said the resident, identified as Gately, cannot return until a cleanup crew restores the home to sanitary condition. The board also weighed a first-ever shared-well variance request for 27 Elder Brewster Road and 34 Samoset Road, continuing the item pending a Town Counsel opinion on deed language and fertilizer conditions.
Conservation Administrator Nancy Rufo won board support for removing the word "unnecessary" from a draft rodenticide policy limiting pesticide use on town property. Hache reported Landing Road beach, closed after a bacteria sample hit 1,100 against a 104 limit, reopened July 22.
