Duxbury Select Board Unanimously Endorses Coastal Resiliency Task Force Recommendations

DUXBURY — June 27, 2023 — Duxbury Select Board unanimously endorses coastal resiliency priorities including barrier beach nourishment and a new planner role. The board voted Monday to back three recommendations from the town's Coastal Resiliency Task Force: partnering with Marshfield and the Duxbury Beach Reservation on barrier beach nourishment, hiring a dedicated resiliency planner to coordinate restoration efforts, and raising the road elevation along Powder Point Avenue to address recurring flooding. The board also recognized Finance Director John Quincy Adams at his final meeting before retiring at the end of June.
