Duxbury Select Board Creates 20 MPH Safety Zone on Three Streets

DUXBURY -- July 11, 2023, Duxbury Select Board accepts free first responder training and sets a new 20 MPH safety zone. The board voted Monday to accept a donation from Scituate-based O2X, operating in conjunction with AT&T FirstNet, to provide a no-cost wellness and conditioning program for the town's fire, police, and dispatch departments covering physical training, injury prevention, nutrition, and stress management aimed at reducing first responder burnout. The board also approved a Highway Safety Advisory Committee recommendation to designate sections of St. George Street, Alden Street, and Railroad Avenue as a 20-mile-per-hour safety zone.
