Duxbury sports roundup, Aug. 31 to Sept. 6

DUXBURY -- Youth hockey headlined the reporting period, with no other town, school or league sources showing new developments.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- Duxbury Youth Hockey's website states registration "is now open" for the 2026-2027 season, with the program telling families "it's never too late" to sign up. The organization is also running a raffle, asking entrants to Venmo $100 to "@DuxYouthHockey" with the player's name in the memo line for a chance to win free tuition for the 2026-2027 season, described on the site as "a $2k VALUE." One ticket is allowed per player, and families with multiple children in the program may buy multiple tickets.

The program also describes its entry-level "Dux Devo" track for players getting their first experience on a team. According to the website, Dux Devo includes two practices a week, on Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 8 a.m., with doughnuts served after the Saturday session. Weekend games are played in the Bay State Hockey League's U6 division on the "Mini ice at the Bog," though the site notes participation in games is optional: "If your child doesn't want play in games that is okay!"

Duxbury Youth Basketball's 2026-2027 winter travel registration, previously reported open, remained posted with no new dates or details this period. No Duxbury High School games were listed for the period, and no town recreation department updates were available in the sources reviewed.
